Dear Teachers,

1. He just says so, he never keeps / has it in his mind. Is this natural?

2. The pastor knows God and knows how to go about problems in life today.
- go about here means solve, right?

3. It will pass when you put yourself out there and start dating rather than watching from the sidelines.
- Does sidelines have a figurative meaning here?

Thanks a bunch to Teachers,

Stevenukd

1. More natural (if I understand your meaning): "He just says so, but he doesn't mean it, and he won't remember it anyway."

2. This sentence seems to be missing something. I would expect to see "go about solving" or "go about addressing" or something like that. When you go about doing something, you do whatever is needed to accomplish the task.

3. Yes, it's figurative. If you are on the football team and playing, that is one thing. But if you are a reserve, standing on the sidelines, just watching the action, that is quite another. Here, the idea is that the person has to get in there and start dating and quit standing on the sidelines watching everyone else having fun.
