Hi Everyone,
I am new as a teacher and I would like some advices on how to manage one of my class. I am teaching in Madrid and today I had my first difficult class. The school told me that my students where at an Elementary level and I found out that they can not even say the English alphabet correctly. I had a 2 hours course with them and I try everything to relax the atmosphere but they kept making joke in Spanish and not really trying to talk in English. I did an opposite flashcards game and hangman with the new words but I felt the contact did not get through. They do not react and keep giggling. It is the first time I feel that and I got several others class with whom the atmosphere is great. Any ideas?
Thank you very much,
Vincenzo |

I'd suggest you check out the Teacher Forums on this website. While there are a few teachers who come to the Student Forums to answer questions, there are a lot more on the Teacher Forums, and there is a special forum for elementary school, for activities and games, and so on. |
