Dear language experts,
Is it possible to say:
The medical system of Switzerland is much more expensive compared to other countries.
or would it have to be:
The medical system of Switzerland is much more expensive than it is in other countries.
or ??
I'd really be grateful for your help. |

.
It is certainly used. For safety's sake, I would front the clause:
Compared to other countries, the medical system of Switzerland is much more expensive.
