Dear Teachers,
1. I usually dont turn in until 1 oclock or so.
- turn in means go to bed, right? And is it still common and polite to say?
2. A: I usually get up around 7. I guess Im something of a night owl.
B: Ill say. I rarely make it past ten, myself.
- Does Ill say have a figurative meaning here?
Thanks a lot to Teachers,

Yes. 'Turn in' means go to bed. It's polite to use and I think it's more commonly used in America than Britain.
You can also say 'Hit the sack' to mean go to bed.
'I'll say' means a strong yes/sure.
Is it hot in Thailand during April?
I'll say! It's the hottest time of the year!
Jessica Alba is a good-looking actress.
I'll say! She's one of the most beautiful women in the world.

How is Thailand's coup d'etat? you haven't showed up for such a long time, I thought you weren't safe in Thailand. but thank god, you are alive.
a couple of weeks ago, I planned to visit Thailand, but my plan got aborted because of the coup d'etat.
anyway, I am so glad that you are ok in Thailand. |
