What does the above bold sentence mean? I think it means 'Another kind of animal has a upper side and a lower side in its shell.' But I'm not sure.
Can you let me know?

| I'm not sure either - I think you're probably right, it's probably talking about shells with two pieces (like a tortoise) or something like a crab. A snail carries its shell on its back (so it's really underneath it), but tortoises are kind of inside their shells, so that might be the contrast they're making. |
