(It can be argued that the Social Security and Medicarecosts are bearable. The wage gains in the trustees' reports could prove too pessimistic. Like all forecasts, they're subject to errors. Even if they come true, they assume that tomorrow's wages will be higher than today's. Productivity increases; wages rise. )
I would be much grateful if anyone could tell me the main idea of this paragraph or paraphrase this paragraph. |

Paraphrasing the passage:
The costs of Social Security and Medicare are high, but we can make the argument that they are not too high, but will be easier to afford in the future. The report predicts only small increases in wages, but the reports could be wrong. Maybe wages will increase more than the reports predict. And even the pessimistic reports predict an increase in wages.
The main idea:
