Could someone give an example of using the phrase 'in the near future' in the past tense.
Is this correct:
It was said that a major earthquake would hit the area in the near future.
After high school I wanted to go to college in the near future but had to work for a few years to earn some money. |

"In the near future" means "soon." It sounds fine in your first sentence but not in your second sentence. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
