Hi everyone,

What do you think will happen to the future of space missions? Do you think the NASA will abort sending astronauts into space if the causes of the "Columbia Shuttle" disintegration are not found?

I think NASA can't stop the future space flights. NASA will see many advantages to the world's science. And NASA had spent much money and time for the space flight technology since NASA had been established.

In the recent, we lost many money and persons from the accidents in the science researching. For an example, we lost Piere and Marie Curie from radiation researshing. But nowaday we can use radiation and laser ray safely and get many benefits from them. I would like to tell you that we can get something from every mistake, experiences, and then we can improve our works to be totally perfect.

i think they won't stop sending space ships because they have to prove the world that they are giants and they'll try to resurrect themselves by sending a new space ship

NASA has learn something from the columbia's tradedy, i'a sure scientists should develop new shuttle safer than that we have today,
space explore will go on and on. it's the dream of human beings

That kind of experiences will just improve NASA's work, conditions and equipments. They'll never stop sending people and shuttles.

I don't think that NASA is spending other astronauts of not found cause.
If they spend other astronauts happen accident again.

We will know the space clearly in the future . But now we should pay for it .Yes ,maybe the accident would happen always .NASA will send the space ship one by one .

Only our own destruction will stop man from going further and further into space. It is the future. One of the times I am most proud of my country is when I read about space missions we have accomplished. Canada is a partner in the International Space Station and has scientific satellites around earth investigating the heavens. Persoanlly, I think all countries and people need to spend less on the military and more on research like this.

I totally agree with you. It would be much more cheaper than war.

I almost wish they would allow private enterprise to participate more in space. It needs a push. When I was a youth in 1968 and saw the movie 2001: Space Odessy at the theatre, I had so many high expectations of what life would be like today in 2003. I have to seriously question why the exploration of space hasn't moved further along. It is a serious disappointment to me.

I think that private enterprise will be the wave of the future. The expensive, primary research and experimentation will always be carried out by the government sponsored space agencies, but expansive growth will come from the private sector. And there will be more deaths, that is the unfortunate reality of exploration of a new frontier. But we need to start work in space, soon.

NASA also proposes to create a new line of small "Scout" missions which would be selected from proposals from the science community, and might involve airborne vehicles or small landers, as an investigation platform. Exciting new vistas could be opened up by this approach either through the airborne scale of observation or by increasing the number of sites visited. The first Scout mission launch is planned for 2007.
In May 2008, the progeny of two promising U.S. missions to Mars will deploy a lander to the water-ice-rich northern polar region, dig with a robotic arm into arctic terrain for clues on the history of water, and search for environments suitable for microbes.
