Whose kids are they anyway? They are noisy.

In the quote, what does the word 'anyway' mean?
I know the meaning of 'anyway' is 'at any rate'. But I think that 'anyway' in the quote has a different meaning from 'at any rate'.
Would you let me know?

Thanks.

.
In any event; used to emphasize something just said. Anyway is also used as a substitute for 'by the way'-- it expresses a new, further thought of the speaker.
