Dear teachers,
I've got 2 questions.
1. Are on the one side and on the one hand identical in meaning and usage.
Like, can I say:
We are about to become a divided country again: on the one hand the poor, on the other hand the rich.
2. Is a social criticism + relevant to our times correct (not talking about the consequences, but that it is important nowadays to be critical as well)
Moreover, it (a book about life in the 19th century)contains a social criticism which is more than ever relevant to our times.
Should it be more like: Moreover, it contains the kind of social criticism that is more than ever relevant to our times.
I'm a bit lost here!

Me too; I'm not sure I understand your questions. Anyway:

Like, can I say: We are about to become a divided country again: on the one hand the poor, on the other hand the rich. -- Yes, that is fine.
2. Is a social criticism + relevant to our times correct? Moreover, it contains a social criticism which is more than ever relevant to our times. -- This sentence is structurally correct.
Should it be more like: Moreover, it contains the kind of social criticism that is more than ever relevant to our times. -- This sentence is also correct, but carries a different meaning: it may not be the same 'social criticism'.
