Native speakers seem to use both of them. However from the grammatical point of view, which one is right?
His speech got funnier and funnier.
His speech got more and more funny. |

Both are fine. Common two-syllable adjectives/adverbs usually take -er/-est comparative/superlative suffixes if they are easily pronounceable; but they can also take more/most instead for stress or other stylistic purposes.
