Dear teachers,
Is the following sentence correct?
The safety in the mines is absolutely not guaranteed and many people get killed or heavily injured in mine accidents.
or should it better be:
The safety in the mines is so poor that many people get killed or heavily injured in mine accidents.
Thank you in advance for your assistance. |

I think the reason that it is written that way is to emphasize that no one would guarantee that the mines are safe. Your re-write emphasizes that it is unsafe in the mines, while the original emphasizes the lack of any assurance of safety in the mines. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
