This means that the soup is eating an onion! Not possible unless the soup were alive! |

You can say, 3. She looks every inch a lady.
You can change 1. like this: She looks to be a lady. OR she looks as if she is a lady. OR, She looks ladylike.
You can say, The soup tastes like onions, or, the soup tastes of onions, you can even say the soup tastes like an onion, if you want, and you can certainly say, The soup tastes of onion. |
