I want to know how to use "I'm finished", " I've finished" and "I finished".
In what situations are these sentences used? |

"I'm finished" means "I have completed my task," whether it's building a house or eating an ice cream cone or telling someone off. It can stand alone.
"I finished" usually won't be used alone. It should be followed by something -- something that tells what you finished or completed:
"I finished painting the Sistine Ceiling, Your Holiness."
"I finished reading 'Crime and Punishment' just in time to take the test."
"I finished college in just 9 short years!"
"I've finished" can also be used in place of "I'm finished" or "I finished." _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
