Hi native teachers,

Really appreciate your kind instructions.

What bothers me today is how the following verbs (verbial phrase) differ
from one another, especially in technical writing:

perform

carry out

execute

Many thanks in advance.

That's a really good question.

Hmmmmm.

IMHO, "perform", "carry out" and "execute" carry the same meaning with very little variation in nuance or formality. They save the technical writer from having to constantly use one or the other or even worse, the generic verb, "do".

U--m, ESL-ish-san thanks for your reply.

But I'm not clear yet.

Who else could tell me the difference among the following words.

perform

carry out

execute
