Are both correct in the parentheses in the following sentences?

The color red helped Mars (get/getting) its name.

Either "helped Mars get" or "helped Mars to get" will do, but not "helped Mars getting."

However, technically you could say "helped Mars's getting its name" if you wanted to use "getting" as a gerund. But I advise leaving that to the English profs and just saying "helped Mars get".
