"wrong of you" is how Americans say it. I can't say why it is better to say it that way. If you say "for", you will be understood by Americans. But our ears are tuned to "of". It is just something you need to remember. Using prepositions often has to be memorized...Basically, "It was wrong of you." means "You were wrong."  |
