I was asked for the reason as to why the following sentence is incorrect:
All of the student's are playing THE puppets.
I realize that 'the puppets' is not right, but 'with the puppets' is correct. Could someone shed some light on to this matter, please.

The plural of student is students, not student's (a possessive). _________________ Mary W. Ng

Sorry everyone... the sentence should have read:
All of the students are playing the puppets.
Why can't 'playing the puppets' be used? _________________ You don't need to live forever - you just need to live! |

Hi chadsto,
The sentence itself is fine, but it has a different meaning.
All of the students are playing the puppets mean 'all of the students are in a play, playing the parts of puppets.' _________________ Mary W. Ng
