That depends if your loved one is a girl or a boy. For girls I'd recommend flowers, chocolates, or maybe a ring or necklace if you're very close. Sorry, but I don't know about guys, because I'm a girl!!!!!

Btw, I hate Valentines day. I think that it's unfair to all the singles out there. Those in-love couples are already in love and happy, why do they need another day to celebrate it and remind all the singles out there that they're alone? Ok, I'm to cynical.....

in fact, if you love each other sincerely, whatever gifts you give her or him, she or he will be very happy. i suggest you take a photo together and bear that moment in mind.

It used to be that on Saint Valentine's Day you sent a card to someone in whom you were interested, but you did not sign it. Perhaps you gave a subtle hint about who you were, but no signature. This was much more fun, because then you were stuck with figuring out who it was that sent the card. If you got more than one, from different people, then it became really interesting.
Now, it has just deteriorated into another great big retail opportunity like Christmas.
