I think that those four examples are correct, but someone said that #2 was correct. I wonder.
Which is correct and why?

The usual aphorism is:-
#2. A man is known by the company he keeps. It means, you judge a man by the kind of people he hangs out with. If he associates with criminals, he is probably a criminal, for example.
#1. and #3 are also possible, but not #4. |
