Hello,
What are the shoes worn by football (soccer) players called? Football boots? I heard that in the US they are called "cleats". But do we need to say "soccer cleats"? Can we use the term "stud" alone to refer to this type of footwear?
Many thanks in advance,

I've never heard "studs" used to refer to them, but football or soccer shoes in the U.S. are usually called "cleats," and so are the studs on the bottom of the shoes that poke into the grass and give the shoes grip. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
