Hi everybody,
I sincerely hope somebody could help me!
I came across this phrase "Never pet a burning dog" in a recent movie....called A Good Year...starring Russell Crow....anyway, I just didn't understand what it means and it's not to be found anywhere on the Internet...in dictionaries even slang......what i discovered is that it originally came from a PC game....noone, however, seems to be clear as to its meaning... Smile

If anyone has any idea what it really means...i bet there would be plenty of people interested to learn!

P.S. or maybe it's just one of those cute nonsensical sentences they use in PC games?! Smile

I've never heard it either but you can figure out what it means.
It means don't interfere. Leave it alone!
It's the same as "let sleeping dogs lie."
