1. Do I need to repeat the definite article here or can I drop it?
2. Can I use diversity here or is versatility better?
The human being may not be the fastest or (the?) most agile creature in the world, but its diversity (?) is impressing.

The is not required the second time, and the sentence is better without it. Versatility is the correct word choice.
