Hi!

Could I have you guys take a look at these 2 sentences:

(1) Could I have first your name?
(2) I have here your complete name on the form.

Now I understand that it would be better to say: Could I have your name first? or I have your complete name here on the form. (Or is it? Maybe there are more correct structures)

But what grammar rule can I cite? Are the sentences numbered above really wrong? How can you explain why they are wrong?

I'll be very glad to hear your responses.

Adverbial modifiers normally follow the direct object.

Quote:
Could I have your name first?

Here the adverb first follows the direct object your name.

Quote:
I have your complete name here on the form.

Here the adverb phrase here on the form follows the direct object your complete name.
