Here is a sentence which i came across during my study.

Teachers report that the "no hat and no play" rule has been successful.

Could any native throw light on this practice of no hat and no play?

I think this refers to the rule, usually called "no hat, no play," in some schools that forbids children from going outside to play if they don't have a hat for protection from the sun. I think it's an Australian thing, mostly.

Probably others have more information on this one.
