fdisk is a program used to erase and create partitions on a hard drive, it comes with most Microsoft Operating Systems. If you have the OS disk, I would recommend trying to boot up with it first. Then see if there is an option to install. I believe most windows install disk will alow you to delete your current installation and do a complete re-install. If this isn't the case, try rebooting your computer to either "dos mode" or "command prompt only mode" and use the fdisk command if you want to change the paritions, or Otherise, the 'format' command will do just fine for erasing the current one.
If you do a complete install and select the current partition it will likely ask if you want to format it, or go ahead without asking anyways. |

hey iceberg. you need to boot from your winxp CD installer. it will help you re-format your hard-drive. fdisk is only used if you want to create partitions.

If you want to erase Hard drive. You must format hard disk by fdisk command. Next the computer use command from system by boot from drive a: or CD for install OS in Hard disk. Maybe is install win9x or other which you can use OS of system. If you want change partition you can use fdisk command or program partitionmagic. Which program partitionmagic use on windows. |
