Hi, there.
Look at the following sentences.
These are 'Hall Rules' at a junior high school.
Hall Rules
1. Walk.
2. Use quiet, normal voices.
3. Use courteous language.
4. Respect personal boundaries.
I cannot understand what the rule 4 means.
What are 'personal boundaries' in this particular case?
I'm looking forward to your answers.
Thanks. |

| It may mean- don't bump into people, or otherwise intrude into their personal space. We all have an area around us that we like to keep free of people. If someone is talking to us we don't like them to stand too close and it is uncomfortable if someone is following too closely behind. That sort of thing. |
