Hi, there.
Look at these two sentences.
#1. I don't have my desk.
#2. Eleven friends are from Canada.
Are these two sentences grammatically correct?
In my opinion, they sound a little awkward.
#1 should be 'I don't have my own desk.'
#2 should be 'Eleven friends of mine are from Canada.'
What do you think?

The sentences are fine. The answers depend on how you ask the questions.
Do you have your desk?
