They are famous?
2
More than $500,000 has been *pledged*, some of which is expected to cover medical costs .
Given as a token?
3
I love *strutting torwards you*.
= I love walking towards you in a show-off way?
Just making sure if my ears were functioning when I overheared this used.
4
Can *-wards* and *-ward* be used interchangeably?
5Why do people call girls *shorties* in Hip Hop world?
Thanks |

1 . "They get along [not a long] famously." When two people get along famously, they get along very well--they are very compatible. It has nothing to do with being famous.
2 . When money is pledged, it is promised to be paid later. Maybe there was a fundraiser, and people who attended promised to send checks to help out the good cause.
3. Well, yes, "strutting towards you" would mean "walking towards you in a show-off way."
4. If you mean words like "forward / forwards" and "backward / backwards," which the British and Americans use differently, yes, they can be used interchangeably. But I would write one or the other, depending upon the audience.
5. Probably because girls are short compared to boys. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
