Dear teachers
I have a question about the sentence below:
How many books you may read, it's useless if you don't try to think for yourself.
Is this a correct sentence ?
I wonder if "No matter" is necessary before "how many books" and
"No matter how many books you may read" is correct.
I need your help.
Thanks in advance.

No, the sentence is not good.
Yes, you need to add 'no matter', as you suggested, or you can say "However many books.........".
"may" is not necessary; I would omit it. |
