Hi, everyone.
Which pronoun do you think would be better in the sentence below?
Tracy tried to divert suspicion away from her/ herself.
I understand herself would be correct grammatically, but it seems like her is okay too.
I'd appreciate your reply.

| "her" is not good, unless you want to mean that Tracy tried to divert attention away from another female. |

The question can be looked at in another way.
If the subject of a sentence does somthing to the subject itself, one should use a reflexive pronoun. |
