"His situation was of his own making."
Can I omit "of" from the sentence?
What does "of" function here?
Thank you. |

It means "from" or "resulting from." It is a fairly common expression. "Her problems are of her own making." "Those are worries of his own making." _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |

What if I take "of" away? Will that change the original meaning?
And is it because of "making" this word making the happen of "OF"? |
