audacious/bodacious
I know these two words mean bold, but what are the differences?

These people have a driving ambition.but where is their* road map to the future?*=?

testophobia-somebody who is afraid of taking a test
are there more words using * -phobia?

*go through the roof*-can I say his fortune and popularity go through the roof.?

Thanks!

audacious: bold and reckless (negative tone)
bodacious: bold and remarkable (positive tone)

Bodacious isn't a real word.

I think it's one of those conflations that spring up accidentally and somehow seem to spread.

As Yinglish said, "audacious" has negative connotations, but "bodacious" has positive connotations. You might say, "Prince's performance at the Super Bowl half time was bodacious!" You wouldn't say, "That thief took everything we owned. He sure was bodacious!"

If I'm not mistaken, it's a combination of "bold" and "audacious," and it always sounds a little funny. I might say it in light conversation, but I wouldn't write it in anything serious except as a word spoken by a character.

Thanks, Lorikeet. I was too lazy to look it up. I mean too busy, yeah, too busy.

Okay, I can take a hint. I withdraw the comment. Twenty hail Mary's.
