Hi, everyone!
I'd like to ask a question about the choice between is and was.
Please take a look at the sentenses below.
1. I thought Tom was from LA. In fact, he is from Australia.
2. I'm sure Tom is/was from LA. I remember he said he was from the biggest city on the West Coast...
I understand No. 1 is correct. But in No. 2, I'm not sure which verb should be chosen. It seems like both can be correct to me.
