Dear friends,

(...this is where the iPod scores above the rest, in providing a great form factor with pristine engineering at a cost that most people would not dare put their players to rough use.)

1.What does "great" in "a great form factor" mean?
2.What does "put sth. to rough use" mean?

A million thanks.

1) Maybe "great" is a synonyme for "good" here. Good in computers means small, and iPod IS small...
...in providing a small form factor (e.g. 1,8")...

2) rough use means: For example: This house had to face the rough use of it's owners

1. I agree, plus most people find the iPod to be good looking (attractive).

2. Yes, and in the case of the iPod, many people strap it to their waist or upper arm while exercising. It gets a lot of abuse that most electronic devices are not subject to.
