1.After the school year ends, I will go to Japan in May.
2.After the school ends, I will go to Japan in May.
3.After school ends, I will go to Japan in May.
4.After the semester ends, I will go to Japan in May.
Q:Is there any difference among the three?

1...Omit "the" in #2. "the school" will not end. "school", meaning things like the classes, study and exams, will end.
2...The correct way to say this is 'I will go to Japan in May, after (the school year)(school)(the semester) ends.' "May" and "after" should be together.
There is no difference in meaning between "school" and "the school year". |
