There is a lot you can do to maintain a healthy back. First, check your chair. Ideally, any chair you sit in should be shaped so that you can feel the bottom of its back against your hips. You should also be able to put your feet flat on the floor. What if you can't choose your chair? Take airplane seats which provide little lower-back support. Putting one or two small pillows behind your lower back may leave you feeling better. Also consider alternating sitting with standing - for instance, at a stand-up desk that allows you to work on your feet. Move arond so that no one set of muscles is forced to support your weight for long. |
1.In the quote, what does 'take' mean?
2.I think 'is forced' should be changed to 'are forced'. Am I right?
Thanks. |
