#2 could be correct when someone wants to continue with an activity.
Two people are studying and one of them decides to take a break.
A. Do you want to go get something to eat.
B. No, I'd rather stay here studying. _________________ I'm never going to learn if you don't correct my mistakes! |

I'd like to ask myprofe a further question. According to your answer, the better choice of the following passage may be #1. Is it correct?
I can't believe it! The weather turned bad in the afternoon when we
got to the island. Then it rained and rained all weekend. We could
only stay in our hotel room ______ TV. I didn't even take one picture of
the beautiful beach. |
