There is a sentence:
One theory ______ that acupuncrure blocks pain signals from reaching the spinal cord or brain.
in my opinion, "suggests", "indicates" can both be used to fill in the blank. But, can I use "hints" here? Why?

"indicates" is the strongest. "suggests" is a little weaker. "hints" is even weaker still. If there are "hints" that this is the case, then probably more tests and studying should be done to see if it is indeed the case. |
