Hello Red Rose -

(pre-digital)... 'tune in' to a radio frequency by turning the 'dial' to find the desired 'station'

in your example... 'stay tuned' means ..don't change the station/channel

in some countries....there are many commercial 'ads' during programs

and people often change 'stations/channels' to avoid them and to see

what else might be on

And sometimes people use "Stay tuned" in conversation or informal writing to mean wait and see what happens, the story isn't over yet.

If a guy asks a girl out on a date, this guy wants this girl so much, so can he say: stay tuned! don't date anyone else! ?

Is that a correct expression?

Not quite.

To use the slang phrase "stay tuned" there should be a process in progress.

Let's say the two have been dating a month, so they have a thing going.

The guy says, "We've been dating a while, it's going good right? What do you think about having a committed relationship?"

The girl says, "Oh how nice! But let me think about it - 'stay-tuned'."

That means there's a good chance she will say yes, but she has to think a little. She'll have an answer for him soon.
