Hello Red Rose -
(pre-digital)... 'tune in' to a radio frequency by turning the 'dial' to find the desired 'station'
in your example... 'stay tuned' means ..don't change the station/channel
in some countries....there are many commercial 'ads' during programs
and people often change 'stations/channels' to avoid them and to see
what else might be on |

And sometimes people use "Stay tuned" in conversation or informal writing to mean wait and see what happens, the story isn't over yet. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |

If a guy asks a girl out on a date, this guy wants this girl so much, so can he say: stay tuned! don't date anyone else! ?
Is that a correct expression? |

Not quite.
To use the slang phrase "stay tuned" there should be a process in progress.
Let's say the two have been dating a month, so they have a thing going.
The guy says, "We've been dating a while, it's going good right? What do you think about having a committed relationship?"
The girl says, "Oh how nice! But let me think about it - 'stay-tuned'."
That means there's a good chance she will say yes, but she has to think a little. She'll have an answer for him soon. _________________ Daniel
