Number 1 is not correct, as it means that she must go find a hiding place if you cannot find her--exactly wrong. If you cannot find her, she need not hide. She is already hidden.

Number 2 means that the reason that you cannot find her is that, apparently, she is hiding. If she were not, you could find her.
