As far as I know, either one is ok. But someone said that only #1 is correct. So, I'd like you to teach me the truth.

I still didn't take your point about the use of between 'read' and 'say'.

Hi Chan-Seung Lee,

When a sign reads "No Entry", it is a literal transcription.

While a newspaper might "read" well (well written and easy to read), we generally do not say that it "reads" information. It expounds information. Therefore, we say-- it "says" here in the newspaper that...

By the way, there is no "truth" in English. Smile
