It means the mother wanted to be sure her son/daughter was always safe, so if he/she had no way to get back from the party, the mother said to call and she would come. It could be because the driver of the car got drunk, or the people at the party were behaving poorly, or it was too late at night, or for whatever reason. The mother "promised no questions" which means she will just go and pick up her child, not asking why, or who was there, or what they did.
Sometimes this is also phrased as "no questions asked." |
