I looked up the above in a dictionary. I think that 'suitable' in the quotes can be replaced with 'suited' but I'm not sure. Would you tell me if it is possible for 'suitable' to be replaced with 'suited'?

No, they are not used in the same way, though I admit that the relationship is complex:
1.We are hoping to find a suitable school / a school suited to our needs
2.The house is not really suitable for / suited to a large family.
3.These crayons are not suitable to use (v) / suited for use (n) in very hot weather.
