the following is what I meet with during my preparation for an exam.
1.---This is for you.
---You ______ have! i don't know how to thank you.
A. mustn't B. couldn't C. can't D. shouldn't

I think none of the answers is right. maybe neen't is better. Am I right/

2. ---I hear that he has dropped out of school.
----______ did it come?
A. How B. Where C. Why D. So

Also I am confused about this choice? To my knowledge, I prefer to use "How come?" or "How did it come about?"

Could any native sort it out for me?

In this case, "shouldn't" is the correct answer.
You shouldn't have spent money on me. It wasn't necessary.

I agree with you here. This makes absolutely no sense to me.
