Here comes another puzzling sentence for me:
"Mortified" is a stage show travelling from coast to coast, in which men and women read from their embarrassing teenage diaries or letters.
Could any native change the above sentence into another simpler way?
Does it mean that we can learn about other people's privacy in the "Mortified"?
thanks |
"Mortified" means really really embarrassed. When people are teenagers, they often have strong feelings, and some of them write down their feelings in diaries or letters. Many years later, if they read what they wrote, especially to other people, they could feel very embarrassed. Someone took this idea and made a show out of it, where people read from diaries and letters they wrote when they were teenagers. This show has been performed in different cities from one part of the country to the other. |
