Hello, teachers.
"His roundabout way of speaking always irritates me."
Is it possible to change this sentence to
"I always get irritated when I listen to his talk/way of speaking. ?
Thank you in advance!

Why do you want to drop the "roundabout way of speaking?" That is the part that is irritating. He never gets to the point directly. |

Hello, Lorikeet-san.
Thank you so much for your quick answer!
Sorry that I made a mistake in my second sentence!
I should have written "I always get irritated when I listen to his talk/way of speaking, because it is very indirect."
And I'd like to know "listen to his talk/way of speaking" is acceptable or not.
Regards,

Ah. Well, "listen to his way of speaking" is acceptable to me, although I probably wouldn't use it, since it adds a lot of words that aren't necessary. I don't think I'd use "talk". |
