Hello, teachers.

"His roundabout way of speaking always irritates me."
Is it possible to change this sentence to
"I always get irritated when I listen to his talk/way of speaking. ?

Thank you in advance!

Why do you want to drop the "roundabout way of speaking?" That is the part that is irritating. He never gets to the point directly.

Hello, Lorikeet-san.
Thank you so much for your quick answer!
Sorry that I made a mistake in my second sentence!
I should have written "I always get irritated when I listen to his talk/way of speaking, because it is very indirect."
And I'd like to know "listen to his talk/way of speaking" is acceptable or not.

Regards,
Junkomama

Ah. Well, "listen to his way of speaking" is acceptable to me, although I probably wouldn't use it, since it adds a lot of words that aren't necessary. I don't think I'd use "talk".
