Hi, everyone
"The lake remained frozen"
Is the word 'frozen' above the past particle of the transitive verb �freeze� or that of the intransitive verb �freeze� ?

In 'The lake froze.', "froze" is an intransitive verb. 'frozen' is the past participle of 'freeze' but is also an adjective.
In 'The lake has frozen.', "frozen" is the past particple of the intransitive verb 'freeze'.
In 'The lake is frozen.', "frozen" is an adjective, and it also is an adjective in your sentence. |
