Someone said that #1 is wrong while #2 is right. But for me, both are correct. Am I wrong? Would you tell me why? And would you give me some explanations about 'welcome' and 'welcomed' taking some examples?
Thanks. |

Technically both sentences are correct. They both refer to the fact that all your friends will be received with pleasure or will produce pleasure at the party. To be welcomed refers to the action, the verb, while to be welcome, the adjective, refers to this feeling or attitude.
John is always welcome at my house means that he is a person that I enjoy being with and I am always happy to see. Welcome is used to describe him.
John is always welcomed at my house means that I greet him with pleasure. Welcomed is used to describe my actions. _________________ I'm never going to learn if you don't correct my mistakes! |

Thanks for your answer.
I'd like to know which one natives have a preference for, #1 or #2?
Thanks |
