1. *Employment certificate*= is that the paper employers give when they hire you?
--Not a term I am familiar with.
2. When will he call?
*Early tomorrow morning.*
Is the order correct?
--Yes, precisely.
3. Is there a phrasal verb for *trying to talk people out using bad excuses* ?
--Hm, maybe: "You don't need to make up any excuses; just tell me the truth."
4 umbrella term=gengeral term?
--Yes. Anything that is "umbrella" is something that covers a broad area. An umbrella insurance policy covers everything not covered by the primary policy. An umbrella term would be a general term that covers a lot of meanings. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
